Executive Summary
The period under review saw Mavhaire Community Development Trust implementing activities towards the protection of Mavhaire weir dam in the area. Multiforce Pvt Ltd (Modrich) as the tasked company which constructed the weir dam , was also given the task to construct 2 silt traps one in Mavhaire river and the other one in Gurudze river. The construction of these silt traps is a solution to silt that was\would have been deposited to the dam hence reducing the dam lifespan. Employment was created for community people as they participated in the construction of the gabions.
Below are the activities that took place in the month of October.
1.1 CONSTRUCTION OF THE FIRST GABION.
Soon after the completion of the dam, workers shifted their attention to construction of the gabions (silt traps). The digging of the foundation where the first silt trap was to be constructed, which is in Mavhaire River, was already done in the previous month. So the first weeks of the month of October the first gabion construction was completed.
